Harmony neck reset

I made this jig a few years ago and used it unsuccessfully maybe 3 times.

What I missed was having the right size needle for steaming the joint loose and a drill bit that would go deep enough.

I use a cappuccino maker and an air line hose.

First separating the fret board using an iron and a thin spatula knife.

Then remove the fret that is one below the body, in this case the 15th fret.

Drilling 2 holes in the fret cavity about 1 inch from either side on an angle that matches the heel or dovetail joint.

When the steamer is nice and hot giving all steam and no water you can inject 30 or 40 seconds in each hole.

Then turning the knob on the back of the jig to put pressure on the heel.

A couple of more times steaming and the joint pushed out nice and slow.

Now I can adjust the heel to give the correct neck angle and re-glue.
