gluing edge banding

After flush trimming the top to the sides, I will block sand with 80 grit sand paper to flatten and then 120 to smooth.

Next set up Stew-Mac router base for depth and with.

This tool is very well machined precise. Make the cut so your a little tall and a little proud.

I’ll check depth and height on a piece of flat stock.

Making small passes, start with a clime cut and working opposite of grain run out.

Going back over and smooth out any uneven areas.

A nice little ledge for the banding witch I’ve left a little tall and proud that will be sanded in later.

I’ve applied glue evenly along the edge and started at the waist. The tape is high-tack binding tape from StewMac.

Now let it dry and then sand flush.
